Tombstone's only Dude Ranch. Located 3 miles outside the world’s most iconic western town. The ranch is surrounded by spectacular scenery coupled with a never-ending history of famous cowboys, Apache Indians, and silver mining.

Ranch History

Located 3 miles West of Tombstone the ranch borders the historic Scheiffelin Monument where Ed Schieffelin, the founder of Tombstone, is buried. Schieffelin chose this spot for his final resting place because it is near the place he hid from Apache Indians who were hunting for him after they saw his mule's hoof prints near the only water hole in the Tombstone area.

The ranch was owned and run by the Trappman family for over 100 years (homesteaded in 1880), primarily as a cattle operation. The property changed hands to the Deveer family, and other prominent Tombstone families who continued with the cattle operation. In 2009 the homestead part of the property was bought by a German who built the Dude Ranch. In 2014 the Ranch was taken over by the True family who have a 50 year history in owning and operating White Stallion Ranch in Tucson.

Tombstone

Cowboys, Apaches, Prospectors, Miners and Red Light Ladies are only part of the colorful history of Tombstone AZ. It was one of the last boomtowns in the old west. The town was very prosperous 1877 to 1890 and was considered the largest productive silver district in Arizona. Its population grew from 100 to around 14,000 in less than seven years.

  • This part of Arizona is full of history; Apaches, Tombstone, Geronimo, the Lawless West – and you can really feel it as you ride through the desert landscape
  • You’re right outside Tombstone where you can take several short old-Western tours: Good Enough Mine Tour, Stagecoach Tour, Historama Movie, Bird Cage Theatre, just to name a few
  • High quality accommodation, with attention to every detail

Lows

  • You need to spend a few days, at least, here as there's so much to see and do
  • If you like your city slicker comforts, this might not be the place for you

Can't wait to go back!

I cannot say enough good things about this! Excellent staff especially our bartender Brad! And Cowboy Bill is awesome! Loved the ranch! The rooms are great. The horses! The instructors/ranch hand cowgirls were amazing. All of the staff are so helpful and treat you like family. The Chef and the food was fantastic! So much to do, but so relaxing. Would highly recommend this place for a getaway or a vacation. We plan on going back this fall. Only two miles to Tombstone, quiet and peaceful.
