With eight guest cabins nestled at the mouth of a canyon, 3 Spear offers an intimate and relaxing environment, with views of the Wind River Valley and Absaroka Mountains.

Ranch History

Originally owned by artist Ivan Albright, 3 Spear Ranch was founded as a family retreat for the Albright Family.

After over 100 years of ownership, the Albright Family handed keys over to Creed and Sascha Garnick, the first ones ever to open the ranch doors to the public.

Why our riding stands out

  • All rides at 3 Spear Ranch are private and catered to the rider's ability. Whether leaping over logs, running through open meadows, or strolling through the pastures, our wranglers will create the perfect ride for you.
  • At 3 Spear Ranch, there is no schedule for rides. If you want to take a ride at sunrise, sunset or in the dark, we're ready if you are! 3 Spear Ranch also offers rides of any length of time, so if you only have time for a quick one-hour ride or you have all day, we will take rides as long or as short as you wish.
  • On Friday nights in Summer, we offer a ride from 3 Spear Ranch to the Dubois Rodeo. This ninety-minute leisurely stroll across rolling hills and meadows sets the tone for a night of true Wyoming Cowboys giving all they got for pride and glory. Enjoy another ride back home to the ranch under the starry night sky.

Named for 3 Spear's owner in the 1940s, Ivan Albright is a renowned artist who drew his inspiration from the wide open spaces of Dubois and whose work is on display at MOMA in New York City.

Tie Hack is one of two original homestead cabins which date back to the early 1900s.  

This free-standing log cabin features blue pine vaulted ceilings, vintage furniture and a large bathroom with a vintage soaking tub, and sunflower shower head.

Booking Policy

3 Spear Ranch's Winter rates range from $440 to $529 per cabin, per night plus, 12.5% state and local taxes. The ranch's Summer rates range from $489 to $585 per cabin, per night plus taxes.

There is no rate per person and all rates include daily continental breakfast. All other meals and activities are charged separately.

A deposit equivalent to 50% accommodation value plus taxes is due at the time of booking.

Cancellations made outside four weeks prior to arrival are refunded less a 3% processing fee.

A second deposit equivalent to 50% accommodation value plus taxes is due at four weeks prior to arrival.

Any cancellations fewer than four weeks in advance of arrival are subject to forfeiting the full deposit.
